Welcome to LFITM

Founded in 2006, the Lycée Français International Théodore Monod (LFITM) has become a leading school in Abu Dhabi. With more than 1,750 students of 59 nationalities, it offers an outstanding French education, enriched by a multilingual and multicultural approach that prepares students for an open, demanding and constantly changing world.

First located on the Al Bateen campus, LFITM grew rapidly, which led to the construction of a new, modern campus on Saadiyat Island. This state-of-the-art site offers a stimulating learning environment with innovative facilities and the latest equipment.

From September 2026 (subject to ADEK approval), the historic Al Bateen campus will reopen for primary students, offering a school in the heart of the city alongside the Saadiyat campus.

With two campuses, LFITM will meet the needs of a growing number of French-speaking, English-speaking and international families, strengthening its place among the region’s most prestigious schools.

The international French school

In the heart of Abu Dhabi, the Lycée Français International Théodore Monod is the leading French, bilingual and international school in the United Arab Emirates.

A partner school of the AEFE, accredited by the French Ministry of Education, LFITM belongs to the AFLEC network and is affiliated with the Mission laïque française (MLF). This guarantees a rigorous education that follows French curricula while valuing teaching innovation and international openness.

LFITM is also a recognised Cambridge International School and an official British Council examination centre. Students can prepare for and sit several language and international certifications:

French International Baccalaureate (BFI)

Official examination centre

LFITM is an official examination centre for the Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB) and the Baccalauréat, approved by the French Ministry of Education.

Students therefore sit their exams at school, in a familiar and reassuring environment that reduces stress and supports their success.

This approval reflects the trust placed in LFITM and the quality of its teaching. Thanks to our teams, every student has the best conditions to show their full potential at these key stages.

Exam results

At LFITM, academic excellence is a priority, and our students’ results show it:

100% pass rate at the Diplôme National du Brevet and the Baccalauréat

LFITM has been rated “Very Good” by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), recognising the quality of its teaching, its modern facilities and its commitment to students’ well-being.

Our campuses

From 2026–2027 (subject to ADEK approval), LFITM will have two campuses to meet the needs of a growing number of French-speaking, English-speaking and international families.

Saadiyat Campus: students from Kindergarten to Terminale, with two pathways: a French–English bilingual pathway from Kindergarten and a standard French pathway.
Al Bateen Campus: in the heart of Abu Dhabi, for primary students.

Both campuses offer modern facilities, a caring multicultural setting and an outstanding education that meets the standards of the French education system.

Parents’ Association (APE)

The APE, a key partner in school and community life

The Parents’ Association (APE) is a team of committed volunteer parents who reflect the cultural and linguistic diversity of our school. Throughout the year, the APE works hand in hand with the LFITM team in a spirit of respect, listening and constructive dialogue.

Its strategic priorities are:

Promoting French language and culture in our school community
Supporting students’ well-being and personal growth
Strengthening links between families through friendly community events
Representing parents in school meetings and committees

Supporting the APE means taking an active part in school life and strengthening the link between families and the school. Annual membership is AED 100.
